The Academy

DFMA was created to provide a unique opportunity for students - a professional make up school inside and outside of London that would be accessible and affordable for everyone.

This would provide our students with the learning, experience and current skills required to succeed in this exciting and competitive industry.

Each course provides the highest standards of education and training for those wanting a career as a professional make up artist. These courses are full-time and part-time and have the benefit of being taught by practising professionals currently working in the industry today. Make up and hair is taught all day, and everyday, providing a more condensed teaching period, which is more effective than a course that is one-year or more. Taking any of these courses will give you a fantastic head start in this amazing industry.

DFMA is a make up school for inventiveness and creativity, providing the highest of standards of education and training in England. Our nurturing environment will give you confidence and pride in your work and open up new opportunities and career options.

Top guest artists will personally teach all of their students in a group and on a one-to-one, with guest artists coming in straight from fashion week, music videos, TV and films. Class sizes are restricted to maximise the learning opportunities and to provide each student with as much individual attention as possible. We will be keeping a keen eye on students who exceed expectations and those who show enthusiasm, talent and dedication - to offer the unrivalled opportunity to assist and work on photo shoots, shows, music videos, promotions, TV and films. This practical experience will be invaluable in your career. At the end of most courses there will be a professional photo shoot giving all students not only the opportunity to leave with the DFMA certificate of achievement, but also professional pictures, that will help build your portfolio and point you in the right direction. An unlimited aftercare plan is also offered in completion on all 4 week courses to provide the benefit of our experience and advice.

If you are already in the industry you can join a tailored course to update previous knowledge and experience and fine-tune your skills.
